Who We Are

  • We are Disability-Led
  • We have a Peer-Based Partnership Structure
  • We Prioritize Community-Based Approaches
  • We are Accessible and Inclusive

The Independent Living Training & Technical Assistance (IL T&TA) Center is a national resource center funded by the Administration for Community Living (ACL). We are dedicated to advancing the work of Centers for Independent Living (CILs), Statewide Independent Living Councils (SILCs), and Designated State Entities (DSEs) by providing training, technical assistance, and peer connection grounded in the values of the Independent Living movement.

Housed within the University of Montana Rural Institute for Inclusive Communities, the Center collaborates with a team of national partners and subject matter experts with deep experience in disability advocacy, nonprofit leadership, and systems change.

We believe that the people closest to the work are the best positioned to shape it—and we’re here to support you with the tools, knowledge, and resources to do just that.
