Becoming an Effective State Independent Living Council (SILC) Member

This course builds on the basics by focusing on how SILC members work together effectively. You’ll learn practical skills for governance, communication, meetings, advocacy, financial oversight, and accountability so you can contribute confidently and responsibly.

Course Details:

  • This is a self-paced, 60-75 minute course.
  • Great for newcomers to the Independent Living network.
  • Each lesson includes one core takeaway, and some include interactive activities and/or reflection questions.
  • A 10-question assessment at the conclusion of the course.
    • Must pass with 80% to receive a certificate of completion from the IL T&TA Center.
