Audience

This training is for hiring managers and leadership at a SILC or CIL.

*While this session may be most relevant for the audience listed above, we welcome participation from anyone interested in the topic.

Description

With a focus on rural and frontier communities – where smaller labor pools, travel barriers, broadband gaps, and close-knit networks shape recruitment – participants will explore how to build and sustain recruitment pipelines that span across geographies.

Objectives

  • Identify at least three rural-specific barriers to workforce and board diversity and match each with a feasible mitigation strategy (e.g., partnerships, remote participation supports, targeted outreach).
  • Develop a simple, measurable recruitment plan that includes key actions, responsible parties, and data points, with at least two indicators of success.
